Abstract:

A complete CAT(0) space has a topological space associated to it called the contracting or Morse boundary. This boundary captures how similar
the CAT(0) space is to a hyperbolic space. Charney{Sultan proved this boundary is a quasi-isometry invariant, i.e. it can be dened for CAT(0) groups. In my
PhD thesis, I studied contracting boundaries of amalgamated free products of CAT(0) groups and applied my insights to right-angled Coxeter groups. In the
talk, I will present the main results of my thesis with the focus on contracting boundaries of right-angled Coxeter groups. We will get to know right-angled Coxeter groups with totally disconnected contracting boundaries and will study interesting situations in which large connected components occur.

Glückwunsch Dr. Annette Karrer!

Annette hat vor kurzem am KIT (trotz organisatorischer Quarantäne Schwierigkeiten) erfolgreich Ihre Dissertation verteitigt.
Wir gratulieren ganz herzlich!
